Eldritch Rite was a mid-eighties underground power metal band based out of north Texas. Founded in January of 1985, a self titled 1986 demo sported a line up comprising front man Chris Orloski, guitarist David Kurrasch, bassist Steve Murphy (Rotting Corpse) and Ronny Harris (Chemicaust) on the drums. Their demo was cut at Pantego Sound Studios with Jerry Abbott, father of Pantera legends, on the board. The demo was tape traded all over the world and was later re-released on cd with Storm Spell Records 2009.
The logo was designed by Chris Orloski who would later go on to do Gray Matter Fanzine out of Austin, Texas in the late 80s.
